Today, these questions are higher up concerns of everyone including us but not to worry SYP Direct is your VP logisitcs service. We do not consider an order a sucess until after installation much less without delivery. While we cannot help with overall inflation but despite higher cost, we are still offer our customers a direct path to the best wood floors which saves them (you) money compared to any local option.
Remeber you are paying shipping on every product you buy, even in the box store and some of that stuff came from far far away.
What is the delivery cost, or how much is shipping using our custom pallets? The delivery cost of hardwood floors depends on a number of variables including length, weight, and markup, these are the shipping portion. At SYP Direct the delivery cost and shipping portion of the order hold as much importance as the quality of the wood. Why, you ask? Because if we sell you the best pine at the best price but it arrives busted up what does it matter, you cannot use it. So, at SYP Direct we build a custom pallet for your order, we understand the importance of protecting your floor.
Delivery cost and waste factor
Marketing square foot cost and actual cost are not the same. A price must include delivery, or the place where change of ownership occurs, such as warehouse. Nor does the cost of delivery mean anything without a guarantee of coverage, with a reasonable damage and or waste factor. The price means nothing if you have to re-order or worse, fall short. Part of our A+ rating comes from never being short, not hardly ever but never. A 100% coverage guarantee assumes we (homeowner or buyer) determined a total amount needed, i.e. waste factor, normally 10%.
Truckload, half truck and hotshots all reduced delivery cost
Other options include truckloads (and truckload pricing) between 10-15,000 square feet. Half trucks, self explanatory, and hotshots which are dedicated over and back. Now, most homeowners do not buy truckloads. However, many have purchased a half truck, sold the excess and got dream floor for free. And of course, retailers who enjoy mixing, for example, shiplap and tongue and groove patterns. These options, along with our VIP service before during and after shipping, we lower delivery cost.

Advertised Cost Unfinished Floors
The advertised cost of unfinished wood flooring, solid wood, means little without several variables. If I ask a mill about a certain grade of Oak, the first question will be about lengths- without that confirmation you are not getting a clear picture of the product. Advertising today is about creating new grade or term. Even more common, box stores ‘add to’, such as select knotty #2 pine. Waste factors, ease of installation, definition of defects, in other words the fine print can mean the (real) cost of your floor to skyrocket. When using LTL, the pitfalls are everywhere; some of them operate like “land pirates”. If one thing goes wrong, you are paying enormous fees. The shipping portion of the delivery cost for 7’ boxes or bundles tends to be lower than 10′ and 12′ boards. To be clear, wood floors refers to ¾ solid, all the way through, real wood. Unfinished hardwood Pallets shipped direct from a mill are long and heavy. The 7’ boxes have after market changes, i.e. prefinished or bevel, meaning the “further from the blade the more you paid.” Shipping long boards is our expertise, we have certain secrets to insure you have enough wood; we tell the truth about delivery cost.
