Welcome to Southern Yellow Pine Direct, we promise to send you the ugliest sample piece with a grade right next to the pretty one Seriously, that is a key to comparing grades, if that wasn’t the case a picture would work.”
Comparing Southern Pine samples
Southern Pine consist of around a dozen species, with yellow, white and Lacebark (Christmas trees) being identifiers within those dozen species. Yellow, in this context indicates hard pines, Longleaf and Loblolly. We will not get on this rant but not all pine floors are created equal, not even close. So when comparing Southern Pine, please get samples.
Comparing samples
When comparing wood floor samples helps insure that you are comparing “apples to apples” regarding quality, but as you read above it is far from foolproof. Things that you can do to help; get pictures with details, get customer references close to you and always ask about the waste factor when dealing with common or character grades.
Getting Flooring samples from Southern Yellow Pine Direct
Since 2014, Southern Yellow Pine Direct delivered over 3 million square feet of solid, 3/4 pine, never shorter than 8′ and up to 16′ while keeping an A+ BBB rating. How? Too simple to believe, the customer is always right even when you are wrong. Ok, so it is not that simple, but we make sure every cusotmer understands real wood, the species and grade. Furthermore, when possible we discuss the installer, or if a DIY, their experience. All that before shipping, which is a entirely different animal today than when we starterd. So when you are comparing samples, remember we are the one that stand with you from the first call through install.
